Studies in pink, yellow, and green

A tiger swallowtail flitted around the coneflowers, always just a little beyond the optimal range of my lens.. The light produced strong color, and pushing the digital zoom made some of the blossoms appear almost painted.

I notice it's also your banner picture, too. They are so lovely, and that slight blurring adds to the picture. Wow!

I feel your pain all too well. These came out stunningly. Did you have to do much editing to achieve this effect?

The pictures are really pretty and have a unique look to them. My granddaughter declared this week that her favorite colors are pink, green and yellow all together so I will have to show her this.

Cheryl...No, the look of the flower petals is in the original. I did take the images into Photoshop so I could apply the Unsharp Mask while reducing the size of the image, just to keep them from losing what little focus they had.

What lovely photos! When the flowers attract butterflies it's hard to decide which is more beautiful.

Thats it, you've done me in. I'm off to find a place to grow these.

Just beautiful. Have you talked about what camera you're using? I'm in the market for a new one.
