September is a great time to get back to walking. The scenery is beautiful, and I am motivated to get in some walking now, before winter makes it nearly impossible.
I've been walking around the lake at Como Park about three times a week. The scenery has been so wonderful I had to take my camera one day, so I'm sharing.
Geese, ducks, cormorants, herons, and other birds make good use of the lake during migration. I miss most of the birds-in-residence because I don't walk at dawn.
People-watching is great; folks of every description run, walk, bicycle, or skate the paths around the lake. There are
babies in strollers, dogs of every
size. and one dignified-looking monkey. I don't know the monkey's story. How does one ask? "Hey, mister, what's the deal with the monkey?" I think I'll just mind my own business.

I think I'd have to ask about the monkey. There's got to be a good story there.
I agree that walking this time of year has a special feel. Great pics.
Why would anyone put a monkey in a stroller? Also, those pictures are lovely. :-)

The path around Como Lake is such a nice walk. Although I haven't often gone around there, I must admit that if I saw someone with a monkey I'd probably ask about it. You must have a really nice camera in addition to a great eye to take such wonderful pictures.
Hi Nancy,
Nice to be talking to you again. I've been rather busy over at my other website. I hope you get a chance to visit me over there.
I also took up walking this summer, but I'm afraid the weather isn't suitable for me anymore. It's starting to get cool and rainy here.
Your pictures are beatiful!
Stay Happy,

That really does look like a beautiful place to walk. I guess if you have a monkey you have to get it out for a little exercise too....I am curious to know what the story is.
Beautiful pictures! Was the monkey just strolling along by himself? If not, I would certainly ask... :-)

Ohhhh.I think you say it JUST like that. I'm sure it would not be the first time someone had asked him what the deal with his monkey was, right? I mean...surely to goodness monkey are not that common in Minnesota. I'm surprised you are still outside...I would think if anyone was about to get dive-bombed by Grumpy Old Man Winter it would be you guys. I'm glad to see you are squeezing a few last precious moments. Although winter is certainly beautiful on its own...you can't enjoy it sans long johns.
