Countdown: Tea for Two...

...and two for tea. Dum-dee-dum and dee-da-dee....

Two weeks to retirement. My brain is mush, except for toddlers and toys and Christmas. I can do a task for work, but I can't strategize even a little.

I do have new post-retirement goals: learning to tap dance and play drums. Just enough to enjoy. And maybe pass along a couple of tricks to the kids. They want to dance on the ceiling like Fred Astaire in Royal Wedding.

I was wondering how long we should let them keep being amazed and asking "How does he DO that?" One of these days, we're going to help them build a model so they can discover how he does it, and we'll make a little movie to awe their parents. Magic and wonder needn't be lost when it leads to experimentation and figuring something out and re-creating it.

I'm off to make some tiny furniture and find a Fred Astaire-like action figure.

You are a fun grandma, I can tell, and I predict you will flourish in retirement.

2 weeks! Mush brain! Yes!

When I watched your video I decided I didn't want to know how he did it. THEN I saw the Unwound version and just had to know.

Can't wait to see your on the ceiling dance or the happy dance you will be doing in 2 weeks.
I have that same tea set...just had a lovely tea party yesterday afternoon with my grandaughter and a couple of teddy bears.
I love tap dancing....it's healthy and fun.

What an adorable tea set. I need to go back and watch that video, I missed it, I guess. Anyway, you'll do just fine, and what a fun granny you are!!

Oh, how I wish I'd had a grandma like you - wonder and exploration and magic all in one package. I loved Fred, liked Gene even better.

Happy counting down.

I had the same mushy brain my last two weeks of work. How lovely that you can replace strategizing with tea parties!

You have great dreams. May they all come true. I like the dance idea. Let us know how it comes out.

Learn to tap dance and play drums...what fun things you have planned. The idea of the video is the stuff wonderful memories are made of. ViMae and Augie have a very cool grandma.

The last two weeks are filled with going away activities...no work is accomplished. Can you see the finish line from where you are now?

So fun being a kid! I struggle to see things through their eyes, but when I manage to do it, it's wonderful. Magic is real again!

I love the tap-dancing goal! I would love to learn to juggle, at least enough to amaze the grandkids! That and how to spin a pizza crust. Ya gotta have goals!
