A gorgeous autumn...

...is what we're having, thanks to lots of rain plus cold nights and sunny days. The ash trees are brilliant yellow (and quickly losing their leaves with every breeze); our northwoods maple is a lovely russet and gets a bit deeper every day. We've been really busy, but Sunday I snapped this as Peter and I sat for a moment in the garden. Today we brought out the kids' table and chairs and had a picnic lunch. So beautiful! Okay, now I'm getting back to work....

Hope you take more time for yourself soon. Thanks for snapping that picture while you still had the brilliant color to catch!

It is so beautiful, isn't it? Warm days and clear nights. A picnic outside sounds perfect.

Beautiful! Here in Colorado our fall colors come primarily from the aspen -- and most of those are up in the mountains and the leaves are gone in a flash!

I am so envious!

Our dry summer has left our trees a bit dull this year - still beautiful, but not the full blaze of glory that you are seeing!

Thank you for sharing!

It's too warm in our part of Italy for color change yet. Thanks for sharing this glimpse of what awaits.

Lovely. Our trees have mostly turned in higher elevations, but we've had rain the last couple of days, so color is close behind.

Our trees are turning but with all the rain and wind, we'll be lucky to have any color here at all.

Beautiful! We've been wondering why our trees aren't changing at all yet! We've had a very rainy year, and expected lots of color-- wondering why it's seemingly delayed...

Stunning. Really, is there anything lovelier than a red maple in the fall?

I think we owe it to ourselves to enjoy every minute possible of the season's beauty and the last bits of sun warmth to be had. Beautiful picture.

I came back to KY for the month of October and I just LOVE KY in the fall!! Although our trees aren't that deep russet color just yet, they are starting to turn. And nothing saddens me quite like a gusty wind blowing leaves from a tree. I know that in the not too distant future, those winds will blow the trees bare and they won't be green again for SEVERAL months. Boo.

What an awesome shot! I love seeing fall leaves side by side with full on summer green like that!
