ViMae and Augie love zoos...the kind they visit and the kind they build with Legos. This afternoon she was telling us about some ways that zookeepers care for the animals.
Pa: Are you going to be a zookeeper?
Vi: No, ballerina.
Pa: Is Augie going to be a zookeeper?
Vi: No.
Pa: Who will take care of the zoo animals, then?
Vi: Just the ones who are already zookeepers.
Grandma: What will happen when all those people get too old
to work?
Vi: They will go to work at different zoos where the animals
are too old.
How sweet! I think it's wonderful to hear the sayings of kids, and imagine how their minds work. I like that retirement program, it appeals to me! :-)
ReplyDeleteVery smart answer. You have to wonder if that is something she had thought about or if she just came up with it when the question was asked.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love it! She is thinking things through.
ReplyDeleteHow clever!
ReplyDeleteAh the mind of a child. I love the way they think. They really make sense!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the video of the two elephants that were reunited after more than twenty years? I do believe they recognized each other and were so happy. A zookeeper is a good profession. Whether in an "assisted living" facility or not. :)
ReplyDeleteKids say the darndest things...
I got a chuckle out of the practical solution - match up the old zookeepers to the old animals.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the ballerina will ever put on a show for them all at the zoo?
Cute. I love this kind of logic.
ReplyDeleteHa, very cute!
ReplyDeleteYes. That's exactly right. It's why Grandma and I have our own menagerie here on Oak Hill... ;)
ReplyDeleteThat makes perfect sense to me! Remember the TV show "Kids Say The Darndest Things?"
ReplyDeleteOh, how funny! Out of the mouths of babes, right?
ReplyDeleteYou can't argue with logic like that.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense to me..the old taking care of the old:)
